WHO IS A CANDIDATE FOR A HYDRAFACIAL?
The Hydrafacial is an excellent treatment for patients of all skin tones looking to improve the appearance of their complexion. Great for both sensitive and dry skin, the Hydrafacial can benefit nearly all patients looking to eliminate scarring, pigmentation, sun damage, and more. Ideal candidates for the Hydrafacial are adults who are in overall good health, non-smokers, and can maintain realistic expectations regarding their results.
Patients with active sunburn, rashes, rosacea, or open wounds may not be suitable candidates for this treatment.
HOW DOES A HYDRAFACIAL GET RID OF FACIAL IMPERFECTIONS?
Thy Hydrafacial combines the processes of cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, and hydration to remove dead skin cells and impurities while delivering hydrating, moisturizing, and rejuvenating serums to the skin. HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?
The HydraFacial® treatment is a fast, efficient treatment that takes as little as 15 minutes. The treatment is often described as a feeling like “a cool paintbrush moving over the face”. You may put on make-up and return to your normal activities right after the treatment since there is no downtime.
WHY SHOULD I ADD A BOOSTER TO THE HYDRAFACIAL?
Boosters are an excellent add-on to the Hydrafacial treatment as they can address specific skin concerns for each patient. For example, suppose you are prone to facial redness. In that case, adding the Calming Booster to your Hydrafacial will involve the use of an additional serum that can help reduce the appearance of redness on your face. At Silk, we are happy to help each patient determine which Booster is best for their skin goals.
WHAT IS RECOVERY LIKE AFTER A HYDRAFACIAL?
The Hydrafacial treatment involves no downtime. As a non-invasive procedure, this treatment does not require an extensive patient recovery process. The treatment allows most patients to return to their normal routines immediately after. However, to achieve the best results, it’s important patients stick to the following after treatment:
- Use a gentle skin cleanser
- Apply sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher daily
- Avoid prolonged time in the sun
- Avoid laser treatments and waxing
- Avoid picking, peeling, or scratching your skin
- Avoid heavy makeup for at least 24 hours after your treatment
WHAT RESULTS MAY BE EXPECTED?
Many people report seeing visible skin refinement and an even, radiant skin tone after just one treatment. The smooth results and hydration may last 5 to 7 days or even longer. One treatment per month is recommended for improving the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, and oily and congested skin.
