How Does Restylane® Combat Signs Of Aging?
As skin ages, it naturally slows the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid, a naturally present and produced substance in the body, which plays an essential role in hydrating the skin and restoring natural volume. As this production slows, skin becomes less hydrated, thinner, slows its ability to restore itself, and loses its natural elasticity, becoming more susceptible to the formation of wrinkles and folds.
Restylane® works to combat signs of aging by restoring age-related volume loss with Hyaluronic acid, and stimulating collagen production over time.
What Are Dermal Fillers? What Is Hyaluronic Acid?
Dermal fillers are facial injection treatments used to help diminish wrinkles while restoring volume and fullness in the face and hands. There are several types of dermal fillers, one being hyaluronic acid. All Restylane® products are transparent hyaluronic acids, which are sugars naturally found in the skin that help provide hydration, fullness and elasticity.
Does A Restylane® Treatment Hurt?
The treatment is minimally invasive and relatively painless. No local anesthetic is usually necessary for facial injections but can be used to numb the skin before injecting if you are concerned. Patients are completely numbed using a local anesthetic for lip augmentation treatments and feel no pain or discomfort during treatment.
