What Does Restylane® L Treat?

It’s a part of life — our skin changes as we age. It becomes thinner, loses fat, and no longer looks as plump and smooth as it once did. Facial aging actually begins in your 20s, when skin firmness begins to decrease as a result of both internal (genetics and natural aging) and external (sun exposure, smoking, stress, etc) factors. As part of the natural aging process, volume in the hands can also deteriorate over time, making them appear aged. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps provide fullness and elasticity. As we age, Hyaluronic acid diminishes, causing skin to lose volume while increasing the chances for wrinkles and folds to appear.

With a range of fillers intended to reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles, add fullness, and volume to the lips, and smooth, plump and restore facial contours, the Restylane® family of dermal fillers can help reveal a younger-looking you with natural-looking results.

Restylane® and Restylane-L® are used for mid-to-deep injection into the facial tissue for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. Restylane® and Restylane-L® are also indicated for injection into the lips.

Our specialists work with each patient to understand their unique goals and customize a treatment plan to meet their needs and achieve their desired look.

As skin ages, it naturally slows the production of collagen and hyaluronic acid, a naturally present and produced substance in the body, which plays an essential role in hydrating the skin and restoring natural volume. As this production slows, skin becomes less hydrated, thinner, slows its ability to restore itself, and loses its natural elasticity, becoming more susceptible to the formation of wrinkles and folds.

Restylane® works to combat signs of aging by restoring age-related volume loss with Hyaluronic acid, and stimulating collagen production over time.

Dermal fillers are facial injection treatments used to help diminish wrinkles while restoring volume and fullness in the face and hands.
