At Silk, A Medical Spa, we work routinely with patients in the area of Encino, CA to provide the best solutions for their unique skincare needs. We see patients regularly who are interested in procedures that will address a variety of skin issues with a single service, and in many cases, we may recommend chemical peels. Chemical peels have been used for decades to improve the skin, and we have a wide range of treatments available for our patients to choose from. A popular choice for many is that of the Mesopeel, an advanced peel that can be used to address a number of skin imperfections, including:
- Rosacea (facial redness)
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Acne and acne scarring
- Stretch marks
- Dull skin tone and texture
- Large pores
The Mesopeel can be tailored to a patient’s unique needs, and may range from superficial to deep. Most patients will find that the Mesopeel treatment takes anywhere from 30-45 minutes to achieve the desired results, and will want to ask their doctor about the associated downtime and recovery needed. The deeper the chemical peel, the longer the recovery time but the faster and more dramatic the results. During a consultation appointment, our team will work with patients to help determine what strength of peel is needed to get the results they desire. More significant and deeper peels will provide better results for those with severe imperfections on the skin.
How do I prepare for a Mesopeel?
Before undergoing treatment, Drs. George Sanders and Stephen Bresnick of Silk, A Medical Spa will provide a thorough evaluation and speak to patients about their goals. Medical history and specific needs will be considered when making recommendations. Patients will want to prepare by stopping Retinol and glycolic acid treatments for a week before their peel, while avoiding bleaching, waxing, exfoliating skin agents, self-tanning products, and facial scrubs for two days to two weeks prior to treatment.
